CellTivity Scientific, a leader in point-of-care tissue assessment, announced that its Van Gogh Microscopy System has now been utilized in more than 10,000 patient procedures, marking an important milestone as adoption of the company’s Dynamic Cell Imaging™ technology continues to grow in the U.S. and internationally.
CellTivity’s Van Gogh Microscopy System provides metabolic cellular imaging designed to support timely, intraprocedural tissue assessment and decision-making. Dynamic Cell Imaging enables physicians to visualize cellular morphology and activity in fresh tissue while preserving the specimen for subsequent histopathology and molecular analysis.
The milestone reflects both broader adoption of Van Gogh and increasing utilization within established clinical programs. Over 60 health systems have adopted the technology globally, with several programs having now surpassed 1,000 patient procedures.
“Reaching 10,000 patient procedures is an important milestone for CellTivity, but what is most meaningful is what we are seeing behind that number,” said CellTivity CEO Greg Bowles. “Multiple programs have now surpassed 1,000 procedures, demonstrating continued utilization of Van Gogh within established clinical workflows. At the same time, we are expanding internationally and seeing growing interest in Dynamic Cell Imaging across new specialties and procedural environments.”
The 10,000-procedure milestone also comes as CellTivity continues to expand its international presence. Van Gogh received its CE mark in Europe in late 2025, opening commercial availability across European markets and enabling physicians to access real-time cellular imaging at the point of care.
Beyond its initial focus in lung cancer, CellTivity is advancing the use of Van Gogh across additional oncology applications. This includes advanced gastrointestinal and pancreatic procedures and gynecologic oncology.
In gastrointestinal applications, physicians are using Van Gogh within advanced endoscopy for pancreatic tissue assessment, including procedures involving endoscopic ultrasound. The ability to visualize the metabolic activity at the cellular level in real-time provides physicians with additional information during specimen acquisition and assessment for pancreatic cancer.
CellTivity is also continuing its work in gynecologic oncology. Published research has evaluated the technology for real-time microscopic assessment of lymph node tissue during gynecologic cancer surgery, supporting continued applications of Dynamic Cell Imaging across additional organ systems and procedural settings.
“The growth we are seeing across our established U.S. and European customers as well as new clinical applications confirms that Van Gogh reaches well beyond a single procedure or specialty,” Bowles said. “As we prepare for our next series raise, our focus now is continuing to build the clinical evidence, partnerships, and infrastructure needed to make real-time cellular imaging available across a broader range of patient and care settings.”
As CellTivity moves beyond 10,000 patient procedures, the company plans to continue expanding the Van Gogh installed base, increasing utilization within existing programs, growing its presence internationally, and developing clinical evidence across lung, pancreatic, gastrointestinal, gynecologic oncology, and other potential applications.
