IRVINE, CA, UNITED STATES, September 30, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Norck today launched Bauron, its new brand delivering ultra-precision, high-performance CNC tools and precision cutting tool solutions. At the center of the launch is the Bauron Custom Tool Design platform, where customers configure custom end mills, drills, taps, and reamers through visual online forms. Every submission is reviewed by a Bauron engineer before production. Alongside the platform, Bauron offers a CNC tooling portfolio of solid carbide and HSS-Co drilling, milling, reaming, and tapping tools, supported by custom engineering and precision manufacturing for low-volume and high-volume manufacturing.

Custom Tool Design Platform

The Custom Tool Design platform gives customers a direct way to specify application-specific tooling. They select a tool type and fill in only the parameters they need, such as diameter, length, point angle, flute design, coolant options, thread type, pitch, tolerance range, shank style, and coating. A Bauron engineer then reviews each design, returns Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback and a quote within [X hours], and moves the approved tool into production. The process takes custom tooling from prototype quantities through full production runs, so each customer receives a tool built to its exact machining requirements. Customers can start a design at bauron.com/custom-tool-design.

CNC Tool Portfolio

The Bauron portfolio delivers ultra-precision, high-performance tools for the hole-making, material-removal, and threading operations at the core of CNC machining. Each product group is available as a standard tool or as custom tooling configured through the design platform.

– Drilling tools. Backed by drill bit manufacturing and drill bit design services, Bauron’s range of solid carbide and HSS-Co drills spans more than 25 drill types. These include spot, center, step, pilot point, straight flute, micro, counterbore, deep hole, and gun drills. Point geometries run from 118° to 130° for aluminum to 135° to 140° split points for stainless steels and superalloys. Through-coolant designs support deep-hole drilling from 8xD to 30xD. See Bauron drills.
– Milling tools. Bauron milling tool manufacturing covers square, ball nose, corner radius, chipbreaker, tapered ball nose, and form end mills, along with dovetail, keyseat, and chamfer cutters. Flute counts range from 2 to 12. Two- and three-flute designs give larger chip gullets for aluminum and non-ferrous materials, while higher flute counts suit hardened and pre-hardened steels. See Bauron end mills.
– Reamers. Bauron reamer manufacturing produces machine and chucking reamers, straight and spiral flute reamers in right- and left-hand helix, and piloted, step, shell, tapered, and adjustable reamers. Tools are available in HSS, HSS-Co, and solid carbide and are capable of H7 bore accuracy. Custom diameters, tolerance classes, flute counts, and cutting lengths are available on request. See Bauron reamers.
– Taps and precision threading tools. Bauron tap manufacturing covers spiral point, spiral flute, thread forming, plug, bottoming, taper, pipe, and machine screw taps in HSS-Co and solid carbide. Standard threads include M, UNC, and UNF, and custom taps are produced for Metric Fine, UNJ, Acme, and NPT threads, custom pitch diameters, and application-specific tolerance classes. See Bauron taps.

Tool Materials, Coatings and Quality

Bauron tools are built on micro-grain solid carbide and HSS-Co substrates, with the substrate selected for the workpiece material and operation. PVD coating options include AlTiN and nACo for steels, stainless steels, and superalloys, DLC and ZrN for aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and TiN and TiCN for general-purpose machining and added wear resistance in stainless and hardened materials. Production is ISO 9001:2015 certified, and tools are verified with 100% optical CMM inspection.

Engineering Support and Production

Bauron’s engineering team works with customers on tool selection, geometry and coating recommendations, and custom engineering of special drills, end mills, reamers, and taps. The team also helps optimize tooling for cycle time, tool life, and part quality. CNC tool fabrication draws on Norck’s capabilities as a precision parts manufacturer, with on-demand production covering low-volume manufacturing for prototypes and single-tool orders through high-volume manufacturing for recurring production.
Beyond the online forms, customers can submit a CAD drawing or a physical sample, which Bauron measures with CMMs and optical comparators to reproduce the tool to exact specifications. Bauron signs NDAs to protect proprietary tool designs and provides Certificates of Conformance, measurement reports, and material certifications on request. For recurring demand, blanket orders and Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) keep tools supplied on schedule.

Industries and Applications

Bauron precision tooling is used to machine industrial components in aerospace and defense, automotive, medical devices, energy, mold and die, and general industrial manufacturing. Typical applications include drilling, milling, reaming, and threading of aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, general and pre-hardened steels, stainless steels, cast iron, superalloys, and composites, in both prototype and series production.

Executive Quote
“Precision in machining starts with the cutting tool,” said Ed Braun, Chief Technical Engineer at Norck. “Every customer brings its own materials, machines, and part requirements. With the Custom Tool Design platform, customers can specify exactly the end mill, drill, tap, or reamer they need. Our engineers review every design, and our manufacturing capabilities produce it to the precision their applications demand, from a single prototype tool to full production volumes.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I order a single custom end mill, drill, tap, or reamer?
Yes. Bauron produces single prototype tools as well as full-scale production orders.

What do I need to submit for a custom tool quote?
Customers can configure a tool on the Custom Tool Design platform or upload a CAD drawing or send a physical sample. The fastest quotes come from a drawing or sample plus the target material, quantity, and any tolerance or coating requirements.

What materials and coatings are available?
Bauron tools are available in solid carbide, HSS, and HSS-Co, with coatings including AlTiN, nACo, DLC, ZrN, TiN, and TiCN.

Is Bauron ISO certified? Yes. Bauron production is ISO 9001:2015 certified, and tools are verified with CMM and optical comparator inspection.
What is the lead time for a custom CNC tool? Lead time depends on tool complexity, material, and order volume, and is confirmed after engineering review of the design, drawing, or sample.
