We’re grateful to everyone who celebrated with us and supported our journey. Growing here means more opportunities to give back to our community and team.”

— Jennifer, owner of Comfort Keepers of Gainesville, GA

GAINESVILLE, GA, UNITED STATES, October 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — After 24 years of serving North Georgia families, Comfort Keepers of Gainesville celebrated its continued growth surrounded by the community that has helped shape its story.

Community members, partners, family, friends, and supporters came together on October 7 to celebrate a new chapter for Comfort Keepers of Gainesville, turning the ribbon-cutting into a meaningful reminder of how deeply the organization’s story is connected to North Georgia.

For owner Jennifer Jack-Wunder, seeing the community gather in support of Comfort Keepers meant far more than celebrating business growth. Her family has lived, worked, raised families, and served others in North Georgia for more than seven generations. Jennifer continued that tradition through a nursing career spanning more than 20 years, much of it dedicated to caring for older adults. Comfort Keepers has now spent 24 years building relationships with seniors and families throughout the same community.

One of the most meaningful parts of the celebration was having Alan White, who originally founded Comfort Keepers of North Georgia almost 25 years ago, in attendance. A Gainesville local himself, Alan played an important role in establishing the foundation that Comfort Keepers continues to build upon today.

Jennifer has maintained a close relationship with Alan over the years, making his presence at the Gainesville ribbon-cutting especially significant. Having the opportunity to reflect on the early days of Comfort Keepers, share memories, and talk about the organization’s deep roots in Georgia was a wonderful reminder of how far Comfort Keepers has come and the people who helped make it possible.

A Celebration Built Around People

For Jennifer, 24 years of service is measured in more than time. It can be found in the older adults Comfort Keepers have had the privilege of getting to know: former teachers who spent decades shaping young lives, nurses and doctors who cared for their neighbors, Veterans who served their country, parents who raised families, and community members who spent years pouring into the people around them. Caring for those individuals as their own needs change

carries special meaning for Jennifer. Many of the people Comfort Keepers serves once spent their lives uplifting others, and Jennifer believes they deserve to feel that same sense of connection, dignity, purpose, and support in return.

That belief is reflected in what Comfort Keepers calls The Journey of Care. A relationship may begin with something as simple as companionship, a ride to the store, meal preparation, or help with personal care. As needs evolve, support can grow while familiar relationships remain. A caregiver who first helps with an everyday errand can become a familiar face and trusted presence through later life stages.

For an adult daughter balancing work, children, a household, and concern for an aging parent, that consistency can mean something just as meaningful: more opportunities to sit with Mom as her daughter instead of spending every visit focused on a growing list of responsibilities. Those moments between the tasks are where relationships are built, and they are at the heart of how Jennifer wants Comfort Keepers to continue growing.

Growth That Gives Back

Comfort Keepers of Gainesville provides non-medical in-home care, including companionship, personal care, transportation, meal preparation, light housekeeping, respite care, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, and 24-hour support. The organization also proudly supports Veterans and their spouses through caregiving services, career opportunities, and free guidance navigating VA resources and benefits. Families with long-term care insurance can receive guidance on understanding their policies and how available benefits may fit into their care plans.

Jennifer believes that commitment to people must extend to those providing the care as well. Comfort Keepers invests in its employees through continuing education, meaningful benefits, scholarships, professional development, and opportunities to grow. Several team members have remained with the organization for more than 10 years, building careers alongside the families and communities they serve.

The organization also gives back by supporting local charities, schools, programs, and community organizations throughout North Georgia. Comfort Keepers of Gainesville is also a member of the Home Care Association of America, further connecting the local organization to the broader home care community

Carrying a North Georgia Legacy Forward

As the ribbon-cutting celebration came to a close, Jennifer and the Comfort Keepers team felt deep gratitude for everyone who helped make the milestone meaningful. The day celebrated where Comfort Keepers is going, but it also honored everyone who helped the organization get there: the people who established its foundation, families who placed their trust in the team, caregivers who built relationships one visit at a time, Veterans and their families, healthcare and community partners, and neighbors who continued to show their support.

For Jennifer, growth means creating room for more of those relationships. “This growth means more relationships, more families we can serve and more opportunities to protect what matters most while continuing to build something meaningful in North Georgia,” Jennifer said.

After seven generations of family roots, more than two decades of Jennifer’s own career devoted to caring for others, and 24 years of Comfort Keepers serving North Georgia families, the ribbon-cutting marked another chapter in a much longer story of service. Jennifer and her team consider themselves legacy builders, committed to helping people build, protect, and complete their own legacies while continuing to pursue purpose and joy through every stage of life.

The ribbon-cutting marked a new beginning, but having both the people who helped build Comfort Keepers’ past and those shaping its future together in one room was a powerful reminder of what makes its North Georgia legacy so special.
